Textured Vegetable (Soy) Protein is a meat substitute made from defatted soy flour, a by-product of making soybean oil. This product is quick to cook, high in protein and fiber and low in fat and sodium. Textured vegetable protein has very little flavor of its own and needs to be rehydrated and flavored before added to your recipe.
