Pepper is the dried berry of a climbing vine that is native to India and Asia. Pepper is actually berries that are picked about nine months after flowering. Black Pepper, the spiciest, comes from berries that are picked unripe. Black pepper has a sharp, pungent aroma and flavor and is a universal table condiment used to flavor all types of dishes. It is also commonly used in stocks, pickling and sausages.
